“We’ll Take Appearances into Account” … First Teaser for ‘YG Treasure Box’ Revealed… Premieres on November 16
[OSEN=선미경 기자] YG Entertainment revealed the teaser video for the survival reality program ‘YG Treasure Box’, notifying the launch of the show.
The teaser for ‘YG Treasure Box’ revealed on October 31 at 10 AM starts with the question, ‘Can we open YG’s treasure box’, as the camera enters YG Entertainment’s headquarters.
During a meeting, representative YANG HYUN SUK later states, “You know mentioned I’ll take appearances into account this time?” and the staff responds, “Really?” with fluster.
‘YG Treasure Box’ is an upcoming survival program being launched by YG in 5 years, after projects that selected members of BIGBANG, WINNER, and iKON.
Representative YANG has previously explained, “What YG’s boy groups including BIGBANG, WINNER, and iKON shares in common is that they were selected through our own survival programs. It will be an extension of that”. He also added, “We plan to focus on expanding to the global market and promoting through online platforms from the planning stages”.
The line by a trainee in the end of the teaser that stated, ‘I have to make debut’ well expresses the desperation of the 29 male trainees that will appear on ‘YG Treasure Box’.
YG Entertainment, the agency that produced top class artists including BIGBANG, WINNER, iKON, and BLACKPINK, plans to broadcast YG’s inner systems and the group’s birth progress, different from their previous debut survival programs that focused on completing missions.
YG revealed their aspirations by stating, “We will judge with strict criteria, so that the boys with star material can become a next generation group that represents KPOP”.
‘YG Treasure Box’ will be composed of 10 episodes and will pre-release through V LIVE (V App) next month on the 16th at 10 PM. The program will later premiere at 12:AM on the same night through JTBC2 and YouTube.
