[COMPREHENSIVE] WINNER is WINNER, the Reason Why We Waited Their Concert For 2 Years (Ft. YANG HYUN SUK)
[OSEN=김은애 기자] WINNER met their fans through their exclusive concert held in two years. As the concert has been long waited for, they fascinated the fans through their performances, talks, ad VCR videos.
On August 19, WINNER held the ‘WINNER 2018 EVERYWHERE TOUR IN SEOUL’ concert in Seoul Olympic Gymnastics Arena. Numerous fans gathered near the arena despite the sweltering heat.
WINNER was touched by the number of fans holding blue cheering sticks that gathered after opening the concert with songs ‘EMPTY’ and ‘HELLO’. The visuals by WINNER wearing white and blue glittering outfits also captured the audiences’ attention.
YOON stated, “We’re performing here in 2 years”. He continued, “We missed you a lot. We’re nervous yet excited. I hope you have a wonderful time”.
JINU continued by stating, “We missed you so much. We’re nervous and excited. Please have fun”. MINO stated, “I missed the blue waves. We’ve prepared a lot. We thought about the word Inncer Circle. I felt like inner sounds like ‘mermaids’. Please make big blue waves”.

WINNER filled up their setlist. They started with ‘EMPTY’ and performed songs including ‘HELLO’, ‘EVERYDAY’, ‘REALLY REALLY’, ‘’FOR’, ‘AIR’, ‘LOVE ME LOVE ME’, and ‘MOVIE STAR’. They performed songs from the album which people couldn’t watch live very often, making them excited.
WINNER also fascinated the fans with their spectacular live performances. They showed off their consistent vocal skills while displaying glamorous choreography moves. The members continued to perform live without showing signs of being tired. The fans responded by ‘singing along’ and roaring.
#SOLO PERFORMANCE
All 4 members of WINNER performed as a solo for the first time since making debut. MINO revealed his sexy charms with the theme ‘TURN OFF THE LIGHT. He presented a provocative performance with the dancer in a stage filled with red lights and neon signs.
JINU was next up. He performed G-DRAGON’s ‘Untitled’. He was known for performing G-DRAGON’s ‘CROOKED’ in WINNER’s previous concert. He revealed his fan-mind for G-DRAGON by stating, “I like G-DRAGON. I’m G-DRAGON within WINNER”. He continued, “Yesterday was G-DRAGON’s birthday. I missed him. But I can only meet him through photos. I’m trying to handle it. That’s why I was able to focus hard. I almost cried:”.
YOON performed his solo track ‘It’s Raining’ and ‘Instinctively’, which he previously performed in Superstar K, showing off his captivating voice. On singing the song ‘Instinctively’, he explained, “YANG HYUN SUK recommended this song. He told me that he wanted to listen to me singing the song in this concert”. He continued, “I sang the song in 7 years. I’ve sang the song a couple times during broadcasts, but it’s my first time singing the song during a concert. I feel fresh”.
HOONY performed TAEYANG’s ‘RINGA LINGA’ and his self-written song ‘Serenade’. He not only presented spectacular choreography and live vocals, but also his strong abs, surprising the audience. He stated, “Our students from ‘Dancing High’ are watching our performances”. He recently became the center of attention by becoming the coach of KBS 2TV’s ‘Dancing High’. YOON added, “HOONY works harder than when he makes choreography for WINNER”.

WINNEr is known for their talks, as much as their musicality. The members shared jokes while showing off their perfect teamwork. On MINO’s solo performance, YOON stated, “He takes care of sexiness alone for this concert. He fits well with the 7-years old rating”. MINO responded, “It’s because my parents are her”.
HOONY made a mischievous acrostic poem with ‘EVERYWHERE’, while JINU responded to the members’ jokes by stating, “That’s enough”. The fans burst into laughter by WINNER’s jokes, forming a joyous mood throughout the concert.
YOON stated, “We’ve had many happenings while preparing for the concert. We feel like this tour will last in our memories forever. Who do you think made the title for our concert ‘EVERYWHERE TOUR’? It was HOONY”. HOONY responded, “We’ll go everywhere to meet Inner Circle all over the world”.
#YANG HYUN SUK
WINNER shared their gratitude towards YG Entertainment’s representative producer, YANG HYUN SUK. HOONY made a joke by stating, “It’s another form of YG. YANG HYUN SUK and related officials from YG are all here. I may be promoted to the head of the department today”. YOON added, “Please help HOONY become promoted”.
On singing the song ‘Instinctively’ during his solo performance, YOON shared his gratitude towards YANG HYUN SUK by stating, “I thank YANG HYUN SUK for letting me perform this song during the concert. Without him, there wouldn’t be YOON that you know today”. HOONY continued by stating, “The people that dance without trying hard always dances better, like YANG HYUN SUK”. He also did an impression of YANG HYUN SUK and stated, “Do you know who’s my treasure? You are my treasure”.
#STAGE SETTINGS & VIDEOS
WINNER also filled the concert with various stage settings, as the arena was recently remodeled and equipped with new facilities. The large LED screen and high-tech rigging system proved the reputation of YG’s high-quality concert performances.
The glamorous stage directing also grabbed the viewers’ attention. JINU showed off his sweet voice along with a video of the blue sky while performing the song ‘Untitled’. He completed his beautiful performance with his stage stairs which looked like it reached the sky, and the lifting equipment.
MINO shined during his solo performance with lightings in red and blue combined with neon signs, while YOON touched the audience with a screen video that made him look like he’s standing in the rain while performing the song ‘It’s Raining’. The VCR video made with the members’ participation also excited the audience.
WINNER also performed acting in the homage video of BIGBANG’s ‘FXXK IT’. YOON and HOONY made the people burst in laughter by disguising into women.
#SURPRISE EVENT
The fans also prepared a surprise event for WINNER. Unlike typical concerts where idols present events in the end of the concert, a video prepared by the fans was played in the middle of the concerts.
With the lightings from the fans’ cellphones, they held the slogan ‘The 4 years we were together, and EVERYDAY we will walk together’. A large cake celebrating their 4th year anniversary and the concert was also presented for the group. The members were touched and couldn’t hide their astonishments.
WINNER responded, “We thought there were technical difficulties since the video came out while we were singing. I thought I was dreaming. We’ve been through numerous performances, but we were never this surprised. Thank you so much”. MINO stated, “I think they did it in the middle since turning it on during the encore is too cliché”.
Meanwhile, starting with their concert in Seoul on the 19th, WINNER will perform in 8 cities in Asia including Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Singapore, Manila, Jakarta, and Hong Kong. More tour locations will be added on soon, which is also raising expectations by global fans.
