[OSEN=김은애 기자] April 4 is the day you longed for, if you’re a fan of WINNER. WINNER will prove the miracle of the number ‘4’ once again, by releasing their 2nd official album ‘EVERYD4Y’.
On April 4 at 6 PM, WINNER will release their 2nd official album, ‘EVERYD4Y’. They are making comeback in 8 months, and are releasing a full-length album in 2 years.
That’s why WINNER put a lot of hard work and effort on the creation of this album, while the expectations by fans has reached its climax.
YG Entertainment’s representative producer, YANG HYUN SUK also supported WINNER by stating, “The song is really good”, “An album you will listen to every day”, “A great song, great album”, and “April is for WINNER”. People are wondering what kind of music WINNER will present with their new album.
#All Songs Self-Made
WINNER’s new album contains a total of 12 tracks. The members participated in the writing and composing of all tracks, adding sincerity to the final work. They will prove their broadened musical spectrum by challenging on various genres including Hip-hop, Acoustic, Dance, and Ballad.
WINNER has consistently worked on making music since they were trainees before debut, and created a lot of hits. This album summarizes WINNER’s growth in musicality for the past 4 years into 12 tracks. Besides YOON who worked as the main producer for WINNER, many songs by MINO and HOONY were added as well, which will let the listeners hear more diversified colors of WINNER.
#EVERYDAY
The title song ‘EVERYDAY’ was written and composed by YOON and MINO, while HOONY participated in writing the lyrics. The song is in a bright and sophisticated Trap genre, and joyfully expresses the theme of a ‘happy every day with the ones you love’.
The musical transformation by WINNER will capture the listeners’ attention. The group challenged on a trendy genre called Tune Hip-hop, unlike the Tropical genre they have challenged through songs released last year including ‘REALLY REALLY’ and ‘LOVE ME LOVE ME’.
Prior to making comeback, WINNER gave out hints on their upcoming title song. YOON stated, “It may not sound like a fan song, but it is. It means that we want to spend every day with you”, while MINO stated, “We tried something that’s like WINNER but not like WINNER. It’s a song you can enjoy with ease while driving”. HOONY expressed, “We expressed the pure and innocent love of our age into the lyrics”.

WINNER noticed that not only the music, but also the MV will be ‘legendary’. The video shot in Malibu, California is another collaboration with director Dave Meyers, who previously directed WINNER’s ‘REALLY REALLY’. Dave Meyers directed the video for Camila Cabello’s ‘Havana’ which swept Billboard and Korean charts, and recently won a Grammy Award.
As a result, WINNER displays sensuous visuals even in the MV teaser clip. Members of WINNER performed ‘shoot dance’ with the sunset at Malibu Beach as the background, and showed an odd chemistry with female dancers. YOON displayed confidence by stating, “The song is good, but we got a legendary video as well. The director won a Grammy Award. The class is different”.
#100 Million Streams
WINNER solidified the group’s position as top idols last year with songs ‘REALLY REALLY’ and ‘LOVE ME LOVE ME’. They led the trend of Tropical genre popularity in Korea, while dominating various music charts and music broadcasts.
Furthermore, the song ‘REALLY REALLY’ became the first song by boy-groups to hit 100 million chart-in streams. The song is still ranked high in charts, maintaining its exceptional long-run.
WINNER’s musicality has now been approved by the public while the group has the image of a ‘group you can trust and listen to’. That’s why many people are expecting ‘EVERYDAY’ will become another hit. They will aim for their second song that reaches 100 million streams. As YG Entertainment has been continuing its no. 1 march this year with iKON’s ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ and BIGBANG’s ‘FLOWER ROAD’, WINNER’s ‘EVERYDAY’ is expected to do the same.
