iKON “Producer B.I, Perfectionist + Man of Principles”
[OSEN=김은애 기자] Group iKON praised producer B.I.
On January 26, iKON did an interview celebrating the release of their 2nd official album ‘RETURN’, at Hapjung Dong, Seoul Mapo district. B.I showed his musicality as a producer by participating in the writing and composing of all tracks.
On their time of hiatus, iKON explained “We practiced singing a lot. We wanted to show versatility. We worked hard. We used the break to recharge ourselves”.
JAY stated, “YANG HYUN SUK told me that a singer is most amazing when he sings. Vocalists in our team practiced vocals, while rappers focused on rapping”.
BOBBY also added, “We worked hard on individual capabilities. We studied foreign language too. We put in a lot of thought on what we should do during the break. We thought showing our growth in the next album would be the most important thing”.
B.I stated, “It wasn’t hard making the album. I tried to have fun and enjoy the process. Music is more like a hobby than work to me. I turned off my phone for about 10 hours after the release, to ease some pressure. I’m keeping it on after I checked the charts”.
On producer B.I, JAY stated, “B.I is a man of principle. He pressures us until we get a perfect outcome. He understands our style. He’s less of a perfectionist compared to what he used to be like, though. He understands us a lot now”. DK sent his gratitude by stating, “We were able to grow quickly, thanks to B.I. It became an opportunity to work hard”.
B.I replied, “I became much softer now. Thank you for understanding me”.
