YG Runs Bold Promotion for iKON

Following their teaser clip including JAY’s solo part in their upcoming single uploaded in the morning on January 23, YG Entertainment also revealed a teaser of JU-NE’s solo part which also serves as the intro of the song in the afternoon.
Since most teasers use instrumentals or show a short ‘preview’ to make the viewers curious, revealing melody parts from a song before its official release is unusual, and can be interpreted as YG’s bold strategy.
Unlike the times when YG was called ‘jewelry box’ among fans back in the day, YG’s representative producer YANG HYUN SUK is actively accepting feedback from fans through his social media this year. People can sense YG’s strong will to change through iKON, who will be the first runner up from YG in 2018.
The teaser clip on JU-NE’s solo part revealed through YG’s official blog on January 23 at 4 PM, contained a lot of melody parts and lyrics including, ‘We loved, it became a memory we can’t erase. I don’t want a fine ending from a common melodrama, I loved you’.
The unexpected charm coming from bright piano riffs and lyrics that state a sad farewell captures the listeners’ ears. The song strongly contains iKON’s unique colors and feels right for their title-song from their 2nd official album being released in 2 years.
iKON’s 2nd official album will be released on January 25 at 6 PM, and will show B.I’s growth as a producer since he was credited as lyricist and composer in all 12 tracks.
YG chose the track ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ as the one-title song, which is part of their strategy for iKON’s successful comeback by putting focus in one song.
Furthermore, they have noticed active promotion through fan signing events and guest appearances in variety programs including ‘Knowing Bros’ and ‘Weekly Idol’.
iKON will first communicate with their fans ‘iKONIC’ who have waited for the group’s comeback for a long time, through VLIVE on January 24 at 11 PM.
