MV of BLACKPINK’s “As If It’s Your Last” surpassed 90 million views… Consistently renewing records
[스포츠조선닷컴=정안지 기자] The music video of BLACKPINK’s “As If It’s Your Last” has surpassed 90 million views, to renew the record of the biggest number of views within the shortest period of time for a K-pop group.
The music video of BLACKPINK’s “As If It’s Your Last” surpassed 90 million views today (Aug. 1) at 1:35AM. The number was reached within 39 days and seven hours (943 hours) of the video’s release.
The video had surpassed 80 million views 18 days faster than the previous record holder. The 90 million view mark was achieved 21 days faster than the previous record holder, to set a new record once again. BLACKPINK set such record even 11 days faster than PSY’s “Gangnam Style” that hit the global music scene hard.
As such, BLACKPINK is continuously setting new records. The music video of “As If It’s Your Last” released on the 22 last month surpassed 10 million views within 17 hours of release. That was four hours faster than the previous record. It then reached 20 million views 20 hours faster and 30 million views 45 hours faster than the previous record. Then, the video went on to surpass 40 million views 46 faster; 50 million views 197 hours faster; and 70 million views 346 hours faster than the previous record, to renew the record for every 10 million views.
With such records, BLACKPINK is soon to become the first-ever rookie singer who has four music videos that surpassed 100 million views within one year of debut. When the video of “As It It’s Your Last” surpasses 100 million views, total four music videos of BLACKPINK including that of “BOOMBAYAH”, “PLAYING WITH FIRE”, and “WHISTLE” will have surpassed 100 million views.
People are now paying keen attention to how faster BLACKPINK will reach 100 million views than the previous record. Notably, August 8 is the first anniversary of BLACKPINK’s debut. So their fans are showing keen interest in whether the video of “As If It’s Your Last” will achieve the 100 million views mark in line with the first anniversary.
