[MBC Drama Awards] LEE JONG SUK Won his First Ever Grand Prize and Kim So-yun was Named Top Excellence Best Actress
[마이데일리=이승록 기자] The Grand Prize went to LEE JONG SUK.
On December 30, the 2016 MBC Drama Awards took place in Sangam-dong, Seoul, and LEE JONG SUK was named as the winner of the Grand Prize. The prize was determined by viewers’ votes.
In the drama “W”, LEE JONG SUK played Kang Chul, who goes back and forth between the webtoon world and the real world. His excellent acting contributed to making the drama a hit, and the highest rating of “W” was 13.8% (Nielson Korea). LEE JONG SUK debuted as a model in 2005, and this is his first ever grand prize.
The Top Excellence Award in the special project drama category went to Lee Seo-jin and Uee in “Marriage Contract”. They heartbreaking performance in the drama was enough to make anyone cry.
In the drama series category, Lee Sang-woo and Kim So-yun in “Happy Home” won the Top Excellence Awards. They have officially become a couple after the show was aired.
In the miniseries drama category, LEE JONG SUK and Han Hyo-joo from “W” won the award. All the top excellence awards went to a couple in a hit drama.
The Excellence Award went to Seo Ha-jun and Jin Se-yeon of “The Flower in Prison” in the special project category, SON HO JUN and Lim Ji-yeon of “Blow Breeze” in the drama series category, and Seo In-guk of “Shopaholic Louis” and LEE SUNG KYUNG of “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo” in the mini-series category.
The Newcomers Award went to NAM JU HYUK in “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo”, Ryu Jun-yeol in “Lucky Romance” and Jo Bo-ah in “Monster”.
The Best Couple Award went to LEE JONG SUK and Han Hyo-joo in “W”. “W” also won the Drama of the Year and the Writer of the Year.
