[OSEN=선미경 기자] Boy group iKON’s concert at “Budokan” that drew 13,000 fans is released in DVD and blue-ray, to reproduce the moment of heat.
iKON kicked off their first Japan arena tour “iKONCERT 2016 SHOWTIME TOUR IN JAPAN” on February 11 this year at Fukuoka International Center in Japan. The tour was successfully rounded off after drawing 146,000 fans to 14 concerts held in five cities. Such strong support from fans has led to the release of DVD and blue-ray that will vividly show Japan arena tour. The DVD and blue-ray will be released on June 22.
iKON set a very exceptional record for a rookie singer with the tour, becoming the foreign artist who held a concert at Nippon Budokan called the “Mecca of concerts in Japan” within the shortest period of time since debut. The DVD will include pre-concert performances of the Budokan concert, as well as the team’s hit songs such as “DUMB&DUMBER”, “I MISS YOU SO BAD”, and “WHAT’S WRONG?” performed in Japanese version at Makuhari Messe Event Hall. Plus, interviews and behind-stories of all the members will be also included, making the DVD a package of gifts for fans.
iKON took No.1 on Oricon Daily Albums chart with the release of Japan debut album “WELCOME BACK” on January 13. Then, repackage album “WELCOME BACK – COMPLETE EDITION” swept No.1 on Japan’s biggest music-streaming website Recochoku and Japan’s iTunes. Then, the song took the fourth place on Oricon’s daily albums chart, proving iKON’s big potential and influence as a “monstrous rookie”. iKON has recorded more than 120,000 sales or record in Japan, boasting big popularity even though they are still a rookie.
iKON is expanding the scale of their tour even further from the first Japan Arena tour, holding their first Asian tour “iKONCERT 2016 ‘SHOTIME TOUR’ IN ASIA”. On April 22, the Asian tour will be launched at “TAIPEI ARENA” in Taiwan. Then, iKON will meet local fans in “ASIA WORLD-EXPO ARENA” in Hong Kong on May 7, in “SICHUAN PROVINCIAL GYMNASIUM” in Chengdu, China on May 14, and then at “NANJING OLYMPIC CENTER GYMNASIUM” in Nanjing, China, on May 21.
