iKON in No.1 place on seven charts with three new songs… Hitting four home-runs in a row
[OSEN=최나영 기자] Group iKON is hitting four home-runs in a row, taking No.1 on seven music charts with new songs of their debut full album “iKON DEBUT FULL ALBUM [WELCOME BACK]”.
“DUMB&DUMBER”, “WHAT’S WRONG?”, and “I MISS YOU SO BAD”, iKON’s new songs released on the 24 at 0 o’clock, are drawing enormous popularity, taking No.1 on seven music charts as of the same day at 9am.
“DUMB&DUMBER” took No.1 on Melon, Korea’s biggest music-streaming website, as well as Soribada and NAVER Music. “I MISS YOU SO BAD” is in the top on Bugs, Genie, and Mnet, and “WHAT’S WRONG?” on Olleh Music. As such, iKON is writing an unprecedented record with three songs in their new album, taking No.1 on different charts at the same time. Following the big popularity enjoyed by “MY TYPE”, “RHYTHM TA”, and “APOLOGY” so far, iKON is now making the grand finale of the year 2015 with their new songs.
At the same time, iKON is also staying in No.1 on iTunes chart of Asian countries including Macao, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, proving their popularity overseas.
“WHAT’S WRONG?” is a song that talks about the heart of a man who does not understand his girlfriend, about small quarrels that take place frequently between them. “DUMB&DUMBER” is a song whose motif came from film “Dumb and Dumber”, which proposes to play hard like “dumbs”. Both songs are fast and exciting songs with an intense beat that is different from other songs iKON has released so far. They are the perfect songs for this exciting Christmas holidays season. In addition, “I MISS YOU SO BAD” is a song written by G-DRAGON to be presented to iKON. It is the first time for G-DRAGON to give his song to another group in nine years and the harmony between the unique sentiment of G-DRAGON and iKON is drawing keen attention.
One hour before the on-line release of their full album, iKON hosted NAVER V-APP live-broadcasting “KONY’S MAS” to introduce new songs and have conversations with fans. They communicated with fans, unveiling music videos and making films in the broadcasting. Notably, as soon as iKON promised that they will post a “boyfriend pic” on their fan cafe if they take No.1 on the real-time search word list, iKON actually topped the search word ranking, showing off their influence.
Now that iKON released their full album on the Christmas Eve as a present for fans who have spared no support for iKON so far, the team will present the first performance of their new album in SBS GAYODAEJEON to be aired on the 27 this month. Then, iKON will hold their second concert on January 30 and 31 next year at Olympic Gymnastics Arena where they held their debut concert on October 3 this year.
