Who Got Full Score for 90’s Popular Song Dance Match?… “Surprising Result”
[한국경제TV 와우리뷰스타 = 전윤희 기자] In episode 6 of “MIX & MATCH” show, a survival audition program designed to select the members of YG Entertainment (“YG”)’s new boy group “iKON”, dance match among the nine contestants will be unveiled.
The concept of the dance match is “reinterpretation of pop songs in the 1990’s”. The members will stage new versions of performances of popular singers who represent Korea’s pop world in the 1990’s. They are expected to present fresh performances that show the point choreography of the original performances added by new moves.
KIM JIN HWAN’s team (KIM JINHWAN, SONG YUNHYEONG, and JUNG JINHYEONG) will perform DEUX’s “Look Back At Me” and BOBBY’s team (BOBBY, KOO JUNHOE, and JUNG CHANWOO) will perform Taiji & Boys’ mega hit “Come Back Home”, which was also reproduced by 2NE1 in the team’s 2nd full-length album released in February this year. B.I’s team (B.I, KIM DONGHYUK, and YANG HONGSEOK) will present a performance of reinterpretation of Park Jin Young’s “Honey”.
As all the three songs are very famous ones that drew a big popularity in the 1990’s, fans are paying keen attention to what new appeal the nine “MIX & MATCH” members will show in the show.
According to insiders, the performances reminded the judges of the past days and they enjoyed the performance very much, to say, “I could really feel the atmosphere of the 90’s”, “I felt the inspiration I felt in those days once again”, “It’s been a long time since I listened to this kind of music and saw this kind of dance, so your performances felt very fresh”, etc.
Plus, it is known that one team received full score after getting extolled by judges including YG’s head producer YANG HYUN SUK, TABLO, Simon-D, San-E, and GRAY.
Meanwhile, in episode 6, the result of the collaboration match with YG’s unique female vocalists will be unveiled.
“MIX & MATCH” is aired on Mnet and search engine NAVER’s TV CAST on every Thursday at 11pm and the replay service is available on NAVER TV CAST and YG’s official blog.
