HARU’s Father Tablo vs. Musician Tablo
[OSEN=선미경 기자] Singer Tablo is captivating the Korean public, showing himself as both a talented musician and caring superman. Recently, Tablo has become famous more as “HARU”’s father, but he is still demonstrating his talent and popularity as a musician.
Tablo has been appearing in KBS 2TV’s entertainment show “Happy Sunday – The Superman Has Come Back”, as a caring father for his daughter, showing a new appeal different from the one shown on the stage as a musician. He expresses his unlimited love for his daughter HARU, appearing as a caring father. Caring father Tablo, not a hip-hop singer, has been enthusiastically accepted by the public. He has even shot a TV commercial with her daughter HARU.
In “The Superman Has Come Back” show, Tablo as HARU’s father Lee Sun Woong has come under the spotlight, not the charismatic musician Tablo or the member of hip-hop group Epik High. He frequently expresses his love for his wife Kang Hye Jung at home and pays attention to every small move of his daughter HARU. Notably, he disclosed himself as a father who does not know how to handle his daughter and who is still unfamiliar with parenting, not as a perfect musician, and that has drawn favorable responses from the public.
When Tablo is with HARU, he is a caring father, but when he is working on his music, he is a serious and charismatic musician. As he has demonstrated in “The Superman Has Come Back” sometimes, Tablo is more serious and passionate than anyone, when he is dealing with music with the other members of Epik High. Anyone can see Epik High’s charisma on the stage, from Tablo himself.
Even though he has yet to come back as Epik High, Tablo has recently worked hard as a musician. In May this year, he released “With You” in collaboration with China’s top female singer BiBi Zhou. The song took the No.1 on new songs chart of China’s music chart Youku.
Plus, Tablo has disclosed his new appeal in his cover video of BIGBANG member TAEYANG’s solo song “Eyes, Nose, Lips”, which was released on the 25 last month. Tablo translated the lyrics of TAEYANG’s “Eyes, Nose, Lips” into English and did the rapping by himself, which proved musician Tablo’s true talent. The song has a new feel different from TAEYANG’s original version and Tablo’s intensive rapping gives a sentimental and lonely feel. The video drew much attention and recorded more than 1 million views within one day from its release. People say that Tablo’s cover video is contributing to the long-run of TAEYANG’s “Eyes, Nose, Lips”.
On the 2 this month, Tablo drew attention once again, with Younha’s new song “Umbrella” released to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her debut. The song was originally included in Epik High’s fifth album released in 2008 and it was feature by Younha at that time. Tablo gave the song to Younha as a present, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her debut and since then, “Umbrella” has been creating sensation by taking the No.1 place on a variety of music charts.
Plus, Tablo will continue his moves as a musician, by appearing in “Show Me the Money 3” as a producer. “Show Me the Money” is cable channel Mnet’s rapper audition program, which will be aired for the first time on the 3 in the evening. As Tablo is recognized as one of the most talented hip-hop musicians in Korea, people are paying keen attention to what charisma he will display in the show.
As such, Tablo’s next move is standing under the spotlight once again, as the Korean public have a big interest in what more appeal Tablo has, aside from Tablo as a caring father and charismatic and talented musician.
