[OSEN=황미현 기자] BIGBANG’s SEUNGRI proudly topped Oricon daily chart in Japan with his solo debut album.

According to the ranking released by Oricon daily chart in the afternoon of Oct 9, SEUNGRI’s Japanese solo debut album ‘LET’S TALK ABOUT LOVE’ topped the chart on the day of its release.

SEUNGRI’s Japanese solo debut album holds songs from his Korean mini second album and the title song from 1st mini album in 2011, including ‘GOTTA TALK TO YOU’, ‘VVIP’, and ‘STRONG BABY’. His achievement in Japan is more meaningful as he was fully in charge of producing his solo album.

Through his album SEUNGRI revealed his first Japanese-written song, ‘Sorani Egaku Omoi’, and even before its official release, the song was selected as the theme song of the drama ‘Yubi Koi’ scheduled to be aired by UULA this winter.

SEUNGRI’s journey in Japan began in earnest this summer, and in just one month he was cast as a regular guest on the local TV program. He aroused much attention when he was selected as the first foreign artist MC on a major program at Japan’s terrestrial broadcasting system, Fuji TV.

Thanks to his fluent Japanese, SEUNGRI appeared on a number of variety TV shows already including TBS’s ‘Sanma’s Karakui TV’ and Fuji TV’s ‘Sakigake! Ongaku Banzuke’. He has successfully gained popularity from the local fans. SEUNGRI, who is enjoying much success in Japan after his triumph in Korea with his solo album, will be joined by the rest of BIGBANG members for Japan’s 6 largest Dome Tour that kicks off in November.
