[OSEN=박정선 기자] PSY, BIGBANG and 2NE1, all of whom belong to YG Entertainment, are nominated for World Music Award.

YG’s artists proudly listed their names on the different categories of nominees list that was released by WMA recently, and they include the world star PSY, BIGBANG, 2NE1 and LEE HI.

PSY was nominated for ‘World’s Best Live Act’ and ‘World’s Best Song’, while G-DRAGON and 2NE1 were listed for ‘World’s Best Live Act’. Their achievement is especially significant considering in the fact that other world stars like Adele, Avril Lavigne and Bruno Mars were also included in the nominees list.

G-DRAGON, apart from seeing his name on a list, also is a nominee for another category as part of BIGBANG. The boy group and 2NE1 will be competing for ‘World Best Group’ as the two were both nominated for the same classification. Other competitors on the list are world-renowned artists like Bon Jovi, Daft Punk and Cold Play.

Meanwhile, YG’s youngest LEE HI will be competing against global stars like Linkin Park and Taylor Swift for ‘World’s Best Song’.

YG artists’ worldwide popularity and fame are becoming more and more pronounced with the craze for K-pop, PSY’s borderless stardom, BIGBANG and 2NE1’s prominence spreading beyond Asia and LEE HI’s remarkable growth as a musician.

World Music Award is a global award ceremony that is aired in the U.S., Asia, Europe, Oceania and Africa, which began in 1989 to award international artists for their achievement. K-Pop has already drawn much attention in the WMA 2012, when PSY, BIGBANG and Super Junior were nominated for awards.
