BABYMONSTER Makes Billboard 200 Debut with ‘DRIP’ at No. 149 After Only 8 Months Since Debut
[스타뉴스=윤상근 기자] YG’s rookie girl group BABYMONSTER has entered the main Billboard chart with their first full album. According to the latest chart released first through social media by Billboard on November 11th (local time), BABYMONSTER’s debut album ‘DRIP’ has secured the 149th spot on the Billboard 200 chart for the week of November 16, 2024.
The Billboard 200 is a significant indicator of local fandom and global market impact in the US. Considering that BABYMONSTER has not yet officially debuted for even eight months, this is an exceptionally remarkable achievement.
BABYMONSTER’s global popularity surge was anticipated early on. Billboard highlighted them as the most promising K-pop newcomers of 2024, praising their debut full album as “brilliantly decorated with charming songs,” and predicted their continued success.
BABYMONSTER is also making its mark on various global charts. The album has dominated the iTunes Album Charts in 14 regions, securing the number one spot, and settled at number two on the iTunes Worldwide Album Chart. Additionally, it topped the real-time chart of Japan’s largest streaming site, Line Music, among the Top 100 Albums.
On Spotify, the momentum continues to rise. One of the double title tracks, ‘DRIP,’ has charted on Spotify’s Daily Top Songs Global Chart for eight days, reaching its highest position yet at 109th today.
