YG’s New Sensation BABYMONSTER, Behind Stories of High Praised Live Handheld Microphone Performances
[뉴스엔=황혜진 기자] YG Entertainment’s newcomer BABYMONSTER has revealed behind-the-scenes details from their music broadcast stages, which have been widely praised for their overpowering live performances.
On June 2nd, a video was released showing BABYMONSTER gathering in the practice room during the last week of their promotions to prepare for the band version of ‘SHEESH’ on Mnet’s ‘M Countdown’ and SBS’s ‘Inkigayo’. The members were amazed by the newly arranged sounds and practiced with relentless energy, sweating profusely as if every moment was a live battle.
Thanks to their extensive training, performing live with handheld microphones felt familiar to all members. BABYMONSTER said, “It feels like we’re preparing for a concert,” and they smiled happily while checking everything from individual movements to outro positioning and breath control for flawless singing.
On the day of recording, the members held custom microphones engraved with their names, rehearsing their parts thoroughly to ensure perfection. On stage, they flashed big smiles at their fans, shedding any nervousness. They naturally engaged the audience, gradually warming up the atmosphere.
Once the performance started, BABYMONSTER showcased their well-honed skills without holding back. Their steady live performance, along with their professional interaction with the audience, filled the venue with enthusiastic cheers from fans, reaffirming their status as the ‘prepared monster rookies.’
BABYMONSTER is currently holding their debut fan meeting tour ‘BABYMONSTER PRESENTS: SEE YOU THERE,’ which spans five cities and seven sessions. After a sold-out first show in Tokyo, they are set to perform in Jakarta on June 8th, Singapore on June 15th, Taipei on June 23rd, and Bangkok on June 29th and 30th.
They will also appear at Japan’s largest music festival, ‘Summer Sonic 2024’ in August, as they continue to expand their global activities.
