YG’s Newcomer BABYMONSTER Releases Dance Video for Debut Song ‘BATTER UP’
[텐아시아=윤준호 기자] The performance full version of the debut song ‘BATTER UP’ by YG’s new girl group BABYMONSTER has finally been unveiled, capturing the intense interest of global fans.
On December 4, YG Entertainment posted ‘BABYMONSTER – ‘BATTER UP’ DANCE PERFORMANCE (DEBUT SPECIAL)’ on their official blog. BABYMONSTER, dressed in a vibrant orange military look, exuded a unique aura, dominating attention with their presence alone.
The dynamic group dance of BABYMONSTER, energetic yet full of hip-hop swag, with smooth control of intensity, once again highlighted the members’ solid skills. Their confident and expressive acting further immersed viewers, making it impossible to take one’s eyes off them.
The use of a white-toned horizon set, multi-angle camera movements, and well-placed lighting with black and red enhanced the details of BABYMONSTER’s performance, adding to the viewing pleasure.
The ‘BATTER UP’ performance was completed through collaboration with choreographer CHAE DA SOM and dancers from YGX, as well as world-renowned choreographers KYLE HANAGAMI and KIEL TUTIN. Especially noteworthy is the music video’s popularity on various global charts. It stayed at the top of the global YouTube daily popular chart for five consecutive days, reaching the summit of the weekly chart. The music video made it to ‘the most viewed video in 24 hours’ immediately after its release. It broke the record for K-pop group debut views in one day with 22.59 million views and surpassed 50 million views in about four days, now exceeding 66.26 million views.
