‘YG TREASURE Unit’ T5, ‘MOVE’ Dance Cover Contest Launches.. Music and Music Video to be Released on the 28th
[OSEN=강서정 기자] YG’s TREASURE unit T5 will be holding a dance cover contest for their new song ‘MOVE’ from July 1st to the 25th.
Contest participants need to upload a dance cover video of the full song ‘MOVE’ on YouTube along with the hashtags (#TREASURE #트레저 #T5 #T5_MOVE #MOVE_DanceCoverContest), and then fill out and submit an application form via Google Forms.
Three teams, including the winning team, will receive awards: the Grand Prize, Excellence Award, and Special Award. They will be selected through careful evaluation by YG and based on the number of views on the cover video. The total prize money is 20 million won, the largest ever in the history of TREASURE’s cover contests.
‘MOVE’ is a dance track that expresses strong attraction towards one another. Member JUNKYU participated in the songwriting and composing for the first time since debut. The lyrics metaphorically depicting unhideable emotions through movements and the captivating beat have been praised for creating a unique mature charm of T5.
In particular, the reaction to the dazzling yet deadly performance has been hot. The point choreography, which seems to draw the other person in, and the overpowering group dance with the dancers in the dance break section have shaken the hearts of fans, so the participation enthusiasm is expected to be even hotter.
In fact, the recently released ‘MOVE’ choreography video has surpassed 10 million views just two days after its release, powered by the explosive response from fans worldwide. It continues to dominate the top ranks of YouTube’s trending music, driving the TREASURE YouTube channel’s subscription count to rise sharply, surpassing 7 million subscribers.
T5’s new song ‘MOVE’ and its music video will be released at 6 PM on June 28th. The five members, SO JUNG HWAN, JUNKYU, JIHOON, YOON JAE HYUK, DOYOUNG, are expected to heat up the comeback fervor through appearances on music shows after the official release of the song.
Meanwhile, following T5’s activities, TREASURE is set to release their 2nd full album ‘REBOOT’, filled with new songs, in August. As implied by the album title meaning ‘restart’, the dazzling takeoff of TREASURE at a new starting point is anticipated.
