YOON’s ‘Solo’ Album Tops iTunes Charts in 18 Countries

[헤럴드경제=고승희 기자] YOON’s first-ever solo full-length album has dominated major global charts.

According to YG Entertainment on March 30, YOON’s first solo full-length album ‘PAGE’ has topped iTunes Album charts in 18 different countries including Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Portugal, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam on the 29th after its release.

The album was also placed on the top ranks in the US and the UK, the two countries with the biggest Pop markets in the world, while all songs from the album including the title track ‘IYAH’ have entered major charts.

YOON wrote and composed all 12 tracks of the album. The title track ‘IYAH’ sings about the pressure of becoming an adult and the growing responsibilities as you get older, presenting YOON’s memoir of growth.

In the MV of ‘IYAH’, YOON acts his school days and came back to himself when he filmed ‘WIN: WHO IS NEXT’ back in 2013. Through the making film, he stated, “The emotions I currently have differ from what I’ve felt in the past through time” and added, “(As a result)I became a person more mature who is able to talk about various things”.

The members of WINNER also supported YOON’s solo album. MINO made a special appearance on the MV for ‘IYAH’ and tapped YOON’s shoulder after passing him the mic on the back stage. Through the MV making film, MINO stated, “YOON, it’s been a while I’ve seen you as a solo artist. I want to support you more because I’ve seen you work hard. Fighting”.
