G-Dragon unveils a completely new concept through his new song MichiGo on LINE April 1
G-Dragon on April 1 will reveal his new song MichiGo, in a way no artists have ever tried before.
On March 29 YG Entertainment, G-Dragon’s agency, and the global mobile messenger LINE said, “G-Dragon’s new song MichiGo will be revealed to the public for the very first time through his official account on LINE.”
MichiGo has a strong hip-hop beat to it, and as the title suggests (‘michida’, the original form of ‘michigo’, means ‘go crazy’ in Korean), it has the beat that will make the fans go crazy.
MichiGo will be shown to the world in a completely new way – fans first have to purchase a GD sticker called G-Dragon Special Edition on LINE, and enter this sticker on G-Dragon’s official LINE account to listen to the music. This is a new method specifically designed for mobile phones.
The service will be first provided in Korea, Japan and Thailand at 11 o’clock on April 1, and then to other countries for G-Dragon’s international audience.
G-Dragon has been giving a lot of thoughts on how to approach the public, that is, apart from his fans, with MichiGo in a fresh manner that has never been used before. And the final decision he made was to use the messenger LINE as an experimental approach to reveal his new song, in line with the changing trends of the music industry.
YG Entertainment is the leader amongst other Korean entertainment agencies in using new media for their marketing tool, including releasing digital single for the first time. And thanks to such record, YG draws attention once again for its new promotions for G-Dragon Line Project, which YG comes together with a global mobile messenger LINE – a new approach that can change the landscape of the entertainment industry in 2013.
G-Dragon’s first solo world tour ONE OF A KIND kicks off on March 30 and 31 at Seoul Olympic Gymnastics Arena, and his new song MichiGo will also be revealed to his fans on stage.
G-Dragon’s world-scale concert will be held 26 times in 13 cities of 8 different countries including Korea and Japan. He will be joined by 550,000 fans. G-Dragon is re-writing the history in Japan, as he will be the first Korean solo artist to hold concerts in Japan’s four biggest stadiums.
