BLACKPINK’s ‘Ice Cream’ MV Surpasses 300M Views on YouTube

According to YG Entertainment on October 1, BLACKPINK’s ‘Ice Cream’ MV surpassed 300M views on YouTube as of 4:46 PM.
The record was achieved in approximately 34 days since its release on August 28 at 1 PM. It is the third fastest record since ‘How You Like That’, which is BLACKPINK’s mega-hit with the fastest record in K-Pop girl group history, and ‘Kill This Love’.
The song ‘Ice Cream’ received a lot of attention before its release due to the group’s collaboration with global Pop star, Selena Gomez. It is a Pop genre song with a simple rhythm and exciting sounds. The cute and fresh concepts which BLACKPINK has tried for the first time grabbed the global fans’ hearts, proving their strong presence as a world class girl group.
‘Ice Cream’ topped the iTunes Worldwide chart and was placed on the top ranks of Spotify’s Global Top 50 and US Top 50 charts, in addition to UK’s Official Singles Top 40 chart, achieving success on major foreign streaming platforms.
‘Ice Cream’ also entered US Billboard’s ‘Hot 100’ chart as no. 13, setting the best K-Pop girl group record, as well as successfully charting in for 4 consecutive weeks.
With their popularity, BLACKPINK is steadily increasing the number of subscribers on their YouTube channel. They are the most subscribed female artist in the world with almost 50M subscribers, while Justin Bieber is the only artist in the world with more subscribers than BLACKPINK.
BLACKPINK’s ‘THE ALBUM’ and the MV for its title track ‘Lovesick Girls’ will be released on the 2nd, while BLACKPINK is on a rising trend. They will be released at 12 AM US EST, which is 1 PM KST on the same day.
