BLACKPINK Wins 3 Categories at E! People’s Choice Awards
[OSEN=김은애 기자] BLACKPINK won 3 awards at the ‘E! People’s Choice Awards’. BLACKPINK’s triple crown had a lot of meaning since the award winners are selected by the public of the United States.
On November 11(KST), BLACKPINK were nominated for three categories at the ‘E! People’s Choice Awards’ held in Santa Monica, CA.
The group won every category they were nominated for including The Group of 2019, The Music Video of 2019, and The Concert Tour of 2019.
The awards represent BLACKPINK’s unprecedented and encouraging accomplishment, made in just 9 months since making debut in the US. The fans and related officials are paying keen attention on BLACKPINK’s global steps, as they are presenting an overwhelming growth in popularity.
The ‘E! People’s Choice Awards 2019’ is an award ceremony of American music, film, and TV. The ceremony has prestige and tradition as it began back in 1975 and has been held for the 45th time this year.
The Music Video for ‘Kill This Love’, which won The Music Video of 2019, has been released back in April. The video currently has over 645 million views on YouTube, while gathering global attention with its fast growth rate.
Music Videos of other songs by BLACKPINK are also hugely popular. They are the first K-Pop group to hold Music Videos with over 700 million views including ‘BOOMBAYAH’, ‘AS IF IT’S YOUR LAST’, and ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’. The video for ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ is about to surpass 1 billion views in the near future.
BLACKPINK met their global fans through the ‘BLACKPINK 2019 WORLD TOUR [IN YOU AREA]’, composed of 32 concerts held in a total of 23 cities in 4 different continents. They’ve successfully held their first-ever world tour and established themselves as global stars.
While spending a meaningful year, BLACKPINK will soon hold a dome tour in Japan. The tour will begin in Tokyo Dome on December 4 and continue in Osaka Kyocera Dome next year from January 4~5, and in Fukuoka Yafuoku! Dome February 22.
