On January 24, BLACKPINK JISOO uploaded multiple photos on her social media with the captions, “#blackpink#members I love#long legged LISA stretching before her performance#cheng who goes well with pink#jendeuk now rolling over me#I love you”.
The members of BLACKPINK were showing a friendly mood with bright smiles on the photo. On other photos, BLACKPINK members were preparing to perform on stage and were presenting their joyous charms on stage.
JISOO revealed her sincerity on each of members and wrote, “members I love”, which grabbed the people’s attention. BLACKPINK’s strong teamwork and friendship really stood out.
BLACKPINK established themselves as a global girl group after making a steep rise in popularity. The MV for ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ surpassed 600 million views on the 13th, in 211 days since its release. It shortened the pre-existing record by 9 months, which accounts to more than one half of the previous record. The video became the fastest MV released by a K-Pop group to surpass 600 million views.
BLACKPINK’s first-ever mini album ‘SQUARE UP’ has previously entered Billboard’s main charts including the ‘Billboard 200’ and ‘Hot 100’ as no. 40 and no. 55, while topping iTunes album charts in 44 different countries including Japan, proving their global popularity.
With their global influence, BLACKPINK announced their expansion to the US last year on October by partnering with Interscope Records, the representative music label of Universal Music Group, and are expected to perform at Coachella, the global music festival, on April for the first time as a K-Pop group.
BLACKPINK is meeting the global fans this year through their first-ever world tour. Following their concerts in Bangkok and Jakarta, BLACKPINK will hold concerts in Hong Kong, Manila, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Taipei to Europe and Australia.
