[OFFICIAL] iKON to Release Repackage Album on January 7
[스포츠조선닷컴=정안지 기자] iKON will hold their encore concert on January 6 on the new year and release the repackage album on the next day.
Today (27th) at 10 AM, YG Entertainment uploaded a poster notifying the release of iKON’s ‘NEW KIDS’ repackage album through their official blog.
Starting with ‘NEW KIDS: BEGIN’ released last year, iKON has presented music in broad spectrum through their 2nd album ‘RETURN’, ‘NEW KIDS: CONTINUE’, and ‘NEW KIDS: THE FINAL’.
The ‘NEW KIDS’ series that started last year on May with a strong Hip-Hop track titled ‘BLING BLING’ continued with ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ released on January, the biggest hit of all-time. The group then released ‘KILLING ME’ with a fierce dance performance on August, followed up by ‘GOODBYE ROAD’ with the vibes of autumn on October. iKON who wrote and composed all tracks from their albums attempted to cover various genres every time they released new songs, and spent their best year ever since making debut.
iKON received love from all generations with these releases and won a total of 19 trophies on music broadcasts. The song ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ topped music charts for 43 days while creating a ‘sing-along syndrome’ among not only kindergarten and elementary school children, but everyone. The song made iKON’s fans abroad sing-along to the song in Korean whenever the group performed overseas, which was a very rare sight.
Due to these achievements, ‘LOVE SCENARIO’ received the ‘Best Song of the Year’ award on the ‘2018 Melon Music Awards’, while B.I received the best songwriter award.
The new song that will be included on iKON’s repackage album to be released on January 7 is very likely to be revealed through iKON’s Seoul encore concert to be held on January 6, only a day before the album’s release date.
Through the upcoming Seoul encore concert, iKON will drop the curtains of their world tour that started with their solo concert in Seoul on August and gathered 180 thousand audiences through their concerts held in Japan, Asia, and Australia.
iKON who have worked restlessly this year will decorate their final stage of 2018 through ‘2018 MBC Gayo Daejaejun’ on December 31.
