[동아닷컴=홍세영 기자]iKON confirmed on additional concerts in six cities in Asia for their Asian tour “iKON-iKONCERT 2016 ‘SHOWTIME TOUR’ IN ASIA”, proving their big popularity in Asian countries.
YG Entertainment announced the news by unveiling iKON’s tour poster on April 29 at 1pm on the company’s official social media channel. According to the poster, iKON will hold additional concerts in six Asian cities: Shenzhen and Shanghai in China, Bangkok in Thailand, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia, and Jakarta in Indonesia.
A concert will be held on June 3 at “SHENZHEN BAY SPORTS CENTER GYMNASIUM”, on June 11 at Shanghai “GRAND STAGE”, on July 16 at Bangkok “IMPACT EXHIBITION HALL 3&4”, on July 24 at Singapore “SINGAPORE INDOOR STADIUM”, on August 13 at Kuala Lumpur “STADIUM NEGARA”, and on September 3 at Jakarta “ICE BSD CITY HALL 5”.
iKON has already proven their big popularity overseas by successfully rounding off their first Japan arena tour “iKONCERT 2016 SHOWTIME TOUR IN JAPAN” that attracted 146,000 fans to 14 concerts in five cities in Japan in March this year. The news of large-scale Asian tour “iKON iKONCERT 2016 ‘SHOWTIME TOUR’ IN ASIA” drew keen attention from fans throughout Asia.
iKON kicked off the Asian tour on April 22 at Taipei Arena in Taiwan. From even before the beginning of the concert, local media flocked to the concert to report about iKON, demonstrating iKON’s big popularity in the country. iKON’s flagship passionate and perfect performances fascinated local fans.
iKON successfully launched their Asian tour with a concert in Taiwan. Now, iKON will continue with the tour to hold a concert in Hong Kong on May 7, in Chengdu and Nanjing in China on May 14 and 21, respectively.
