[Exclusive] T.O.P-Ueno Juri, “Korea and Japan’s Top Stars” Confirmed to Act for New Drama Series Together
[일간스포츠=김진석 기자] BIGBANG’s T.O.P and Ueno Juri are going to co-act in a new drama series.
An insider said to Daily Sports on the 31, “T.O.P and Ueno Juri have confirmed to act for a new drama series produced by CJ E&M”.
The new series does not even have a title yet. However, T.O.P and Ueno Juri have confirmed to act for it and now they are preparing themselves for shooting. The new series will be released in the second half of this year, on websites or TV channels. The staff of the drama are now pondering upon different possibilities. T.O.P and Ueno Juri will be going back and forth between Korea and Japan for shooting, because of the development of the drama’s story.
T.O.P will act as the drama’s hero “Woo-hyun” who has painful memories about his first love but still believes in love. Ueno Juri will act as heroine “Haruka” who still has a lot to answer to love. The drama series will depict the journey and story of Korean man “Woo-hyun” and Japanese woman “Haruka” who have been living different lives so far but begin to overcome the pain of their first love and discover new love together.
As such, the iconic actor and actress of Korea and Japan will work together in a drama series. Notably, as the new series is expected to have a quality higher than any other drama series that have ever produced by Korea and Japan jointly, drama fans are paying a keen attention to it.
T.O.P has been working as a member of BIGBANG and actor. He has acted for drama series “I am Sam” (2007) and “Iris” 2009), and movie “Into the Fire” (2010), “Commitment” (2013), and “Tazza: The High Rollers” (2014). His acting is highly recognized, and T.O.P has received several awards from movie festivals and awards.
Ueno Juri is Japan’s top actress. She showed an impressive acting in movie “Josee, the Tiger and the Fish” in 2003, as well as in “Swing Girls”, “Rainbow Song”, and “Turtles Swim Faster than Expected”. She has established herself as the top actress in Japan, showing cute characters and matured images in drama series “Orange Days”, “Last Friends”, and others. Notably, she is very famous in Korea, too, as the heroine of “Nodame Cantabile”.
